Leonardo’s meteorological software packages are designed to cover a wide range of tasks to suit different users. This includes the detection of adverse weather conditions, tracking and probabilistic short-term-forecasting, and generation and distribution of national mosaics/composites. Our software allows to process heterogeneous radar networks (3rd party radars), to seamlessly integrate other sensor data (lidar, satellite, lightning, etc.), and to utilize dual polarization information in a sophisticated manner.
All software packages are inhouse developments. Emphasis is placed on user-friendliness and operational stability. Customer specific developments can be realized within short timeframes. Latest results from the research sector are incorporated into the algorithms used for data processing and product generation.
