The Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway) has awarded Selex ES GmbH, a Leonardo company, with a frame contract to supply up to five (5) C-Band magnetron weather radars. Selex ES is going to supply its current state-of-the-art METEOR 735C weather radar system(s).

MET Norway has been operating a digital radar system since 1988 and over many years expanded its radar network. All existing C-Band systems are Selex ES weather radars. The new radar(s) to be supplied under the framework contract will be used to replace older radars and modernize the existing weather radar network.

The first weather radar under the frame contract has already been ordered. It will be installed in Rissa west of Trondheim.
